Deutsch: Transfiguration; Die Skulptur des schottischen Bildhauers Rob Mulholland verbindet die Bereiche „Außen – Innen – Außen" des Deutschen Zentrums für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE) in Bonn.
Die vorderen Elemente stellen Gehirnwellen dar, die sich im Innenbereich des Haupteinganges wiederfinden. Scheibenförmige Edelstahlelemente im Boden der Eingangshalle und am hinteren Wandbereich symbolisieren Neurotransmitter, die sich im hinteren Außenbereich zu einer greifbaren Struktur verbinden.[1] |
Inscription InfoField | Kunst am Bau Künstler: Rob Mulholland, Schottland Titel: „Eine visuelle Metapher der Heilung“ Der schottische Künstler vergleicht die Struktur des dreigeteilten Neubaus DZNE mit einer Hirnmembran; voller Fächer und Passagen, miteinander verbunden, um Gedanken und Ideen zu schaffen. Die Wissenschaftler symbolisieren die Rezeptoren und Axone eins Gehirns, welche neue Gedanken entwickeln und an die Kollegen kommunizieren. Analog zu den Signalen von Neurotransmittern unseres Gehirns kann jeder Gedanke durch die verbundenen Gebäudeteile übertragen werden. Alle Gebäudeteile stehen in stetiger Interaktion. Seine Installation schafft einen visuellen Pfad zwischen der Vorderseite der Eingangsgebäudes, durch das Foyer, hinaus in den bewaldeten Park. Die vorderen Eingangselemente der Skulptur repräsentieren, ausgehend von der Gesichtssilhouette de gehirnwellen, als visuelle Metapher für Wahrnehmung. Die teils reflektierenden Oberflächen nehmen die Veränderungen von Licht und Farbe im Laufe des Tages und über die Jahreszeiten auf und erfassen so die Welt ähnlich einer Sinneszelle. Scheibenförmige Edelstahlelemente im Boden und am hinteren Wandbereich der Eingangshalle symbolisieren Neurotransmitter die die Gedanken in den hinteren bewaldeten Außenbereich tragen um dort durch physische Transformation das Hauptelement der Skulptur zu schaffen. Indem die Neurotransmitter sich zu einer festen und greifbaren Struktur verbinden, spiegelt die Hauptskulptur fas Konzept der Regen? Einer visuellen Metapher für Heilung wieder. Die Oberflächen des gekrümmten Abschnitts aus poliertem Edelstahl reflektiert die umliegende Architektur und Natur. Als positive Zukunftsperspektive für die Behandlung neurodegenerative Erkrankungen repräsentiert dieser Abschnitt Bewusstsein, Aufklärung und die Möglichkeit, wieder klar zu denken. So fasst die Skulptur die Philosophie des DZNE auf, indem sie die Reise der translationalen Forschung aufnimmt. |
