Description
Deutsch: Kath. Pfarrkirche St. Martin in Bamberg. Blick über den neuen Altar zum Hochaltar. Er füllt das ganze Halbrund des Chores aus. Im Auszug erstrahlt in einer Glorie, von Engeln umgeben, das Christusmonogramm IHS. Über dem rechts im Chorraum zur Sakristei führenden Portal befindet sich die Wappenkartusche des Domkapitels, über dem gegenüberliegenden Portal die des Domprobstes Konrad von Stadion. Die überlebensgroßen Figuren des Ordensgründers der Jesuiten, des hl. Ignatius von Loyola (li.), und die des ersten Jesuitenheiligen und Indienmissonars, des hl. Franz Xavers (re.), weisen auf die Chorseitenkapellen, die sich mit Rundbögen zum Altarraum hin öffnen.
