Description
English: Chapa Hotel project of Mr Fouyer (14/05/1929) Wall Poster - SaPa Museum: the initiatives on privatising the hotels in SaPa had opened opportunities for civil vacationers here. In 1909, mr Meiville opened the first civil hotel in SaPa named Chapa hotel (Hotel de Chapa). In the summer of 1914, a part of the Tonkin governer's palace were transferred from Hanoi to SaPa for holiday, some of them stayed there til October. in 1918, Hautefeulle (villa only for civil servants) were constructed by Hong Gai Coal Group and Hai Phong Cement Company. In 1921, the envoy's palace was built. In the same year, the most superficial palace of the Tonkin Governor was built in SaPa. In 1924, Fansipan hotel was built right in the heart of the Kinh's village. In June 1929, Mr Michel has proposed building a luxury hotel in SaPa with stone. In 1932, the largest hotel in SaPa with 45 rooms - Metropole (known as the Grand Hotel De SaPa) was inaugurated. In 1937, Ernest Jean Chaperon invested in building the Center Hotel.
