Das Trockenmaar "Am Hohen List"
Das Trockenmaar "Am Hohen List" liegt auf einer Höhe von 467 m über NN. Der Maarkessel wurde bis auf wenige aufgeforstete Flächen intensiv landwirtschaftlich genutzt. Ein Wirtschaftsweg hat den Maargrund bisher durchschnitten. An dem südexponierten Maarhang haben sich in Folge der Kleinparzellierung auf ehemaligen Magerwiesen und -weiden rasch Gehölze ausgebreitet. Damit einhergegangen ist ein Rückgang der Arten offener, wärmebegünstigter Standorte.

Durch die Rodung der inselartig eingestreuten Fichtenaufforstungen, die Verlegung des Wirtschaftsweges aus dem Maargrund und die Entbuschung des südexponierten Hanges konnten die geomorphologischen Besonderheiten wieder erlebbar gemacht werden. Ds Flächenmanagement und die Umsetzung der Massnahmen erfolgten im Rahmen des Bodenordnungsverfahrens Schalkenmehren.

Mit Hilfe einer Mutterkuhherde wird das Gebiet ganzjährig extensiv bewirtschaftet. Durch ein an die unterschiedlichen Standorte angepasstes Mähweidenmanagement werden artenreiche Wiesen- und Weiden trockener bis nasser Standorte entwickelt. Weiterhin wird ein naturnaher Quellbereich und -bach in seiner Struktur und Güte verbessert.
