Supplying water for a crew of volunteers, mushers, and the running dogs themselves calls for a lot of fresh water. Luckily, the Yukon runs clear all winter, it just requires some effort to reach it! Water from the river is then filtered or boiled as needed before being used for dog or people water. NPS Photo |
