[edit]Description2016 White House Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride (26377213871).jpg | The White House hosted its 7th Annual Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride on April 14, 2016. Regular Army, Army National Guard, Army veterans and Warriors from the sister services participated in the ride around the White House area. 2016 Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Games competitor and U.S. Team Captain for the 2016 Invictus Games, retired Army Capt. Will Reynolds delivered remarks and introduced President Barack Obama along side Vice President Joe Biden, and Secretary of Veterans Affairs, the Honorable Robert A. McDonald. Reynolds, a West Point Graduate lost his leg after an improvised explosive devise detonated in Iraq. He has competed in the DoD Warrior Games and in the 2014 Invictus Games in London. The 2016 DoD Warrior Games will take place at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York in June. This is the first year the Army is hosting the Warrior Games, an annual sporting competition bringing together wounded, ill and injured service members and Veterans from across the country. Family members joined the President who blew the horn to start the ride. Reynolds led the ride, which more than 50 other wounded service members and Veterans also participated.
