| Description |
English: Looking eastwards towards Salisbury at Templecombe station in Somerset. This used to have two tracks and two platforms here (plus a third serving a connection to the Bath to Bournemouth line which passed at a lower level). It was close din 1966 but reopened in 1983 by which time just one track was in use so the northern platform was restored as this was adjacent to the track, however the station entrance is on the south side of the line. In about 2012 a new platform was built in the space left vacant when the second track was removed. This is the only platform now in use; the footbridge has a gate locked across it to prevent public accessing the closed platform. |
