Summary

[edit]
Description

There were two National Public Lands Day events in the San Juan Islands this year--one at Odlin County Park and another at Spencer Spit State Park—both on Lopez Island.

Volunteers built a new footbridge over a seasonal stream, cleared trails of encroaching bushes, cleaned the beaches and participated in educational sea kayak rides. Multiple agencies took part in hosting and managing the NPLD events.

“This event was a great opportunity for us to meet people working in land management in the San Juan Islands,” said Jeni Brue, park manager at Odlin County Park.

Other partners: BLM, San Juan County Parks and Fair Department, Spencer Spit State Park.
