Description
Deutsch: 08.05.2015 03238 Finsterwalde, Schloßstraße 7/8: Schloß (GMP: 51.628008,13.710116), hervorgegangen aus einer mittelalterlichen Wasserburg. 1228 wurden Burg und Stadt Finsterwalde erstmals erwähnt. Diese Herrschaft fiel 1425 an die Kurfürsten von Sachsen, die das Land an untergebene Adelsfamilien verlehnten. 1437 kam Finsterwalde an die Herren von Maltitz, dann folgte die Familie von Minckwitz. 1533 setzten sich die Herren von Dieskau aus Dieskau im Saalkreis in Finsterwalde fest. Unter den Dieskaus entstanden die noch heute vorhandenen Schloßgebäude. 1625 gelangte Finsterwalde in den unmittelbaren Besitz von Kurfürst Johann Georg I. von Sachsen. Der Herrensitz ist seitdem hauptsächlich für Verwaltungszwecke genutzt worden. 1885 zog die Stadtverwaltung in das Vorderschloß ein, 1919 kaufte die Stadt auch das Hinterschloß hinzu.
