Description

AROS (Armillaria ostoyae) Crew. Left-to-right: Greg Filip, Paul Deignan, Mike Simpson, Brent Oblinger, and Helen Maffei. Klamath Ranger District, Fremont-Winema National Forest, Oregon.

Additional information from Helen Maffei: "This pic is our latest re-measurement of AROS (an Armillaria root disease study near Klamath Falls). This study examined whether the fir component fared better in Armillaria infected stands when the stand was managed (thinning) to relieve stress. As it turned out management had very little effect on the progression of Armillaria root disease."
