[edit]Description2015-12-14 Scutellinia pennsylvanica (Seaver) Denison 607804.jpg |
Scutellinia pennsylvanica (Seaver) Denison Image location: Montréal, Quebec, Canada This collection made from a friend in montreal was unusual due to the white coloration of the specimen, he sent me the specimens, and after microscopy I concluded that it was S pennsylvanica without any pigments. Spore measure 18-20*11-13µ and have a reticulum, which is not a common occurence in the genere Scutelinia, no other reticulate spored scutelinia have spores in the size range. It grow on wood. Used references: help from ascofrance and Schumacher scutellinia identification key Based on microscopic features: spore size and the presence of a reticulum on said spores.
