| Description | Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announces a major new multi-billion dollar vehicle to promote investments in rural infrastructure at the White House Rural Council inaugural Rural Opportunity Investment conference on Wednesday, Jul. 23, 2014. These targeted investments will include health facilities, schools and other educational facilities, rural water and wastewater systems, energy projects, broadband expansion, local and regional food systems, and other rural infrastructure. The private fund will represent a new approach to supporting job-creating infrastructure projects across the country. The conference is brings together top leaders from the business community and financial institutions, senior government officials, economic development experts and others from across the country to discuss potential investments in business and infrastructure projects in rural communities.
