Description

... of the 'no trust, no cushion' variety -- or perhaps of the 'no money, no cushion' variety, as I spotted no more graffiti in the Shanghai Metro than was seen in Seoul or Tokyo.

The orange at left designates a seat intended for elderly and disabled passengers.

All metro seats in Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai were arranged vertically like this one. I gather that they expect crowded cars, and want to allow lots of room for standees.
