Afrikaans: Marmerfries in die Voortrekkermonument wat die geskiedenis van die Boere tydens die Groot Trek uitbeeld. In hierdie toneel oorhandig voortrekkerleier Louis Tregardt (1783–1838) sy vuurwapen aan die Portugese distriksgoewerneur Antonio Gamitto (1806–1866), na hul trek Delagoabaai op 13 April 1838 bereik. Die Tregardt-egpaar sou dieselde jaar aan malaria sterf.
English: Marble relief of the Voortrekker Monument on the history of the Boers during the Great Trek. In this scene the voortrekker leader Louis Tregardt (1783–1838) hands his fire arm to the Portuguese district governor Antonio Candido Pedroso Gamitto (1806–1866), after their trek reached Delagoa Bay on 13 April 1838. Tregardt and his wife would die of malaria during this year.
