Summary
[edit]Description2013 NOAA Satellite Conference (14379194577).jpg |
English: Wenjian Zhang (Director, WMO Space Programme), Osvaldo Moraes (Director, Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Research, INPE), Kathy-Ann Caesar (Chief Meteorologist, Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology), and Mike Manore (Director, Monitoring Strategies and Data Management, Meteorological Service of Canada) participate in a special panel on data access and use by the international community at the 2013 NOAA Satellite Conference.
The 2013 NOAA Satellite Conference for Direct Readout, GOES/POES, and GOES-R/JPSS Users was hosted by NOAA and was held at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, Maryland, on April 8-12, 2013. The conference brought together users and providers of polar-orbiting and geostationary satellite data, products and applications from the public, private, and academic perspectives and provided a venue and opportunity for greater collaboration between and among environmental satellite users in the Western Hemisphere. This conference is particularly important to prepare users for the GOES-R and JPSS era. More than 600 people attended the conference, taking in more than 175 posters, 70+ presentations, 25 exhibits and panels, tours, user feedback sessions and additional workshops.
