Summary
[edit]Description2013- 'Bertie' Liver bird sculpture, The Royal Liver Building, Liverpool, England, UK ( Ank Kumar ) 03.jpg |
English: The Royal Liver Building is a Grade I listed building in Liverpool, England and is a symbol of the Liverpool City Region, and so too, is the Liver Birds (sculptures) on top of the building.
The Liver Bird appears on the seals and logos for a plethora of businesses in the Liverpool Bay Area and on the Liverpool Football Club. The Royal Liver Building has the largest clock faces in the UK. The two Liver Birds(Mythical creatures) that stand proudly on top of the building, named Bertie and Bella, are said to protect the City. Bertie faces the city, keeping a watchful eye on the citizens of Liverpoool. Legend has it that if those two the Liver Birds fly off, the City will cease to exist.
