Deutsch: 16.03.2012 09306 Wechselburg: Über der Zwickauer Mulde, die Wechselburg in großem Bogen umfließt, liegen auf einem Bergrücken das Schloß (GMP: 51.004385,12.771294) und die Stiftskirche, die zusammen mit der vorgelagerten evangelischen Pfarrkirche St. Otto (GMP: 51.004706,12.772807) das Ortsbild beherrschen. Wechselburg hieß ursprünglich Zschillen. Unter diesem Namen gründete Graf Dedo von Groitzsch (um 1130-1190), der Sohn des Markgrafen Konrad von Meißen (1098. 1157), vor 1168 ein Augustiner-Chorherrenstift. 1278 wurde das Kloster dem Deutschen Ritterorden übertragen. Die Stiftskirche, erbaut zwischen 1160 und 1180, ist eines der bedeutendsten romanischen Bauwerke in Sachsen. Da die mittelalterlichen Bebauung den repräsentativen Ansprüchen der 1700 in den Grafenstand erhobenen Familie nicht mehr genügte, errichtete Graf Carl Heinrich II. von Schönburg (1729-1800) nach der Mitte des 18.
