[edit]Description2012-13 in-progress jacket and vest showing the tailoring process, by Kathryn Sargent of Savile Row.jpg |
English: 2012-13 in-progress jacket and vest showing the tailoring process, by Kathryn Sargent of Savile Row. Made from White Rose Yorkshire worsted wool, twill weave, supplied by Dugdale Bros & Co.
Created by Kathryn Sargent, this process jacket shows the many layers and stitches involved in the creation of a modern bespoke Savile Row suit. It represents 35 hours of work and is still half finished. On the left, handmade buttonholes and edge stitching. On the right, the hand-padded body and chest canvas are revealed along with the hand-padded lapel and collar. The basting stitches are removed once the garment is finished. |
