Deutsch: 28.04.2011 04736 Waldheim: Im sorgsam bewachten Areal der heutigen Justizvollzugsanstalt (JVA) Waldheim steht die einstige Schloßkirche (GMP: 51.073875,13.029296). Sie ist aus einer dem heiligen Otto geweihten Kapelle hervorgegangen, die Dietrich von Beerwalde, der Besitzer der Herrschaft Kriebstein, 1404 zur Klosterkirche des von ihm gestifteten Klosters machte. Mit der Einführung der Reformation im wurde das Augustiner-Eremitenkloster Waldheim 1539 aufgehoben. Der Klosterhof wurde 1588 an Kurfürst Christian I. von Sachsen verkauft, der in Waldheim ein Jagdschloß einrichtete und die Klosterkirche in eine kurfürstliche Schloßkirche umwandelte. 1716 brachte August der Starke in dem leerstehenden Schloß ein Zucht-, Waisen- und Armenhaus unter, aus dem später eine geschlossene Haftanstalt hervorging. Die bisherige Schloßkirche wurde zur Anstaltskirche. Der mit Schiefer beschlagene Turm wurde 1785 errichtet. 1964/65 wurde die Anstaltskirche zur Turnhalle umgebaut. Das historische Inventar übergab man 1972 dem Museum in Kriebstein. Die Friedrich-Jahn-Orgel wurde 1987 in die Lutherkirche in Meißen-Triebischtal umgesetzt.
