English: Burnham Hoard 2010 T509: Item BBH.2: Socketed spear

Spearhead. Three incised lines down centre of each wing. outer line is c.0.85cm in from outer edge, lines 1mm apart. Oval socket. Wings have triangular cross section. Wings have curved edges. Break across both ends. Corrosion. Pattern shows similarities to that of number 45 (fig. 3) in Ehrenberg, EBA & Kite-bladed spearheads, BAR 34. Length: 57.76mm Width: 48.61mm tapering to 29.01mm Thickness: 16.23mm increasing to 17.03mm Weight: 55.09 grams
