Description |
English: BURNHAM HOARD 2010 T509: Item A.45 Socketed Axe; South Eastern - Variant Incomplete cast copper allpy socketed axe, missing the blade end. The mouth has a circular cross section and the body has a rectangular cross section. There are 5 equally spaced mouth mouldings. The side loop extends from lower mouth moulding. Casting seams are slightly visible. Heavily corroded and possibly mis-cast. Deliberately broken across the body at the blade end. Length: 71.63mm. Weight: 143.04 grams. Mouth: 33.88mm by 34.69mm. Socket: 23.17mm by 24.24mm. Loop: 22.35mm long, 8.25mm wide. |
