English: BURNHAM HOARD 2010 T509: Item A.43 Socketed Axe; South Eastern - Plain (Petters type A.1)

Cast copper alloy socketed axe. Wide upper mouth moulding, slightly concave sides which expand slightly for the blade end. Casting seams. Side loop. Socket contains compact copper alloy fragments. Small amount of damage to blade tip.

Length: 99.99mm. Weight: 327 grams. Mouth: 42.11mm by 38.74mm. Socket: 27.03mm by 24.77mm. Loop: 21.88mm wide, 10.58mm thick.
