English: BURNHAM HOARD 2010 T509: Item A.17 Socketed Axe; South Eastern - undiagnostic fragment

Incomplete cast copper alloy socketed axehead; The axe has been deliberately cut just above the socket end. The sides have smoothed casting seams. The sides are angular and do not flair out for the cutting edge, making the axe trapezoid in plan. It has a rectangular cross section.

Length: 34.69mm. Weight: 60.25 grams. Socket end: 22.71mm by 6.06mm Body (at break): 31.46mm by 11.98mm. Cutting edge: 39.39mm
