Description

A day hike to Three Mile Resthouse on the Bright Angel Trail is a 6 mile round trip (9.6 km) and takes between 4-6 hours. There is a restroom and water is available from May through September. The elevation change from the top is 2,112 ft. (644 m) Three Mile Resthouse is below the Kaibab limestone, the Coconino sandstone, the Supai sandstone and sits on top of the redwall limestone. This location is just above Jacob's Ladder, a steep series of switchbacks through the redwall limestone. NPS Photo by Michael Quinn
