Circumstances of discovery: Whilst searching with a metal detector

Description: Incomplete cast silver double loop buckle frame. One 'D' shaped loop and the narrowed strap bar survives. There is a small triangular knop at each end of the strap bar. The reverse of the buckle has filing marks. It is 29.13mm long, 21.41nmm wide, 2.63mm thick and weighs 3.53 grams.

Disposition: Disclaimed

The object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal and is over 300 years old. Consequently it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content.
