Description
Deutsch: 01.06.2009 01307 Dresden-Johannstadt, Florian-Geyer-Straße / Ecke Elsasser Straße: Zwillingsbrunnen (GMP: 51.055447,13.757941). Das Original lud seit 1959 am Dr.-Külz-Ring / Ecke Wallstraße zwischen dem Gebäude der Dresdner Bank und dem damaligen Ring-Cafe zum Verweilen ein: zwei quadratische Sandsteinbecken, 3,5 Meter Seitenlänge, in der Mitte der Becken etwa 50 Zentimeter hohe Fontänen. Wirkliche Kunstwerke waren aber die Brunnenböden. Die Mosaikbilder sorgten für ein lebhaftes, farbenreiches Wasserbild. Den westlich gelegenen Brunnen hatte Kurt Sillak, den östlichen Hermann Naumann gestaltet. 2000 fielen die Zwillingsbrunnen der neuen Straßenführung zum Opfer. Die Mosaikarbeiten wurden nicht erhalten. Zum Retter der "Zwillings" -Reste wurde die Wohnungsgenossenschaft Johannstadt. Seit dem 6. Mai 2006 haben sie ihr zweites Leben. Die Mosaiken wurden anhand von Fotos nachgestaltet. Susanne Jacob, Theater- und Holzplastikerin, und Robert Frenzel, Theaterplastiker und Steinmetz, schufen sie. Sie bestehen aus je 400 Keramikteilen in zehn Farben, meist Blautöne. Der Keramiker Johannes Makolies hat die Teile gebrannt. Für die Wassertechnik war Eberhard Grundmann verantwortlich.
