Description

Clitopilus prunulus (Scop.: Fries) Kummer

Location: Samuel H. Boardman State Park, Curry Co., Oregon, USA

Observation Notes: These were almost as common in these Sitka spruce woods at this time of year as they can be in the Bishop pines in northern California.
Wanted to see if I could see the ridge in the spores as reported in the literature. Congo red helped a little.
