Title
2008 T765a
Description
English: A medieval finger ring fragment in the form of an angel holding a heart with both hands. One of the angel's wings has broken off at the top end. On the reverse there is a bar which is all that remains of the hoop of the ring. Rings using the motifs of angels holding hearts as their bezel are not uncommon in the late Middle Ages, along with designs of crowned hearts and hearts sprouting flowers. The angel undoubtedly formed the bezel of a ring.
