Title
2008 T176 post medieval thimble
Description
English: Post-Medieval silver thimble

Top crown of silver thimble; the main (wall) is torn off. Pinched decoration on remainder of thimble wall, jagged circular damage to centre of crown. No maker's mark or owner's mark visible.

Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it can not be securely dated to pre-1708 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.

The fragment is 14.41mm in diameter, 5.51mm tall, the wall is 0.31mm thick. It weighs 0.52 grams.
