Description
English: A Medieval brooch formed of a flattened band with a cut-out bar for the attachment of a pin, now lost. One surface of the brooch carries a Latin inscription, much abraded, which reads

AMOR . VINCIT . OMNIA

(Love conquers all)

The brooch is silver and dates from the fourteenth century.

Dimensions: diameter 15 mm.

Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
