Deutsch: 13.01.2008 01157 Dresden-Cotta/Briesnitz, Meißner Landstraße 4: Theater Junge Generation (GMP: 51.063674,13.679560). Im Jahr 1886 wurde an der heutigen Meißner Landstraße das Ballhaus Constantia eröffnet, das später zu den bekanntesten Tanzgaststätten im Westteil der sächsischen Hauptstadt zählte. Die Aussichtsterrasse hoch über der Elbe galt als Balkon des Dresdner Westens. Nach den Kriegszerstörungen von 1945 war der Ballsaal mit seinen knapp 1000 Plätzen einer der wenigen erhaltenen dieser Größenordnung in Dresden, weshalb er ab 1947 unter dem Namen Volksbühne zur regelmäßigen Theaterspielstätte mit Aufführungen hauptsächlich für Kinder und Jugendliche wurde. Am 21. April 1950 erhielt die Einrichtung den Namen Theater der Jungen Generation. Nach einem Brand 1976 wurde es bis 1979 modernisiert. (Seit 2016 im ehem. Kraftwerk Mitte).
