Description

Inocybe erubescens A. Blytt

Image location: Lebanon

Identification to species level is needed. Suspected Scientific name: Tricholoma sp. Fruiting body: Cap: conic to hemispheric becoming convex in age, whitish with a beige-yellow tint in age. Slightly cottony when young becoming smooth. Margin has white flakes attached that falls-off in age. Gills: notched, whitish with a yellowish tint, more so in age. Stalk: colored like cap, covered in whitish flakes when young and floccose in age, slightly tapering upwards. Dimensions: Cap: around 4cm across. Stalk: 7-8cm tall and 1-1.5cm thick. Microscopic features: Spores: yellowish in mass and under microscope. Smooth, elliptical with apiculus, 11.5-17.5 × 6.5-10µm. Occurrence: scattered to gregarious (separate or small cluster of separate), on ground (humus) in cedar and Acer area. November 5, 2008. Comments and Observations: Chemical tests: positive (brown on cap and gills). Odor: pleasant.
