Title
2007 T251 Post Medieval Bell
Description
English: Treasure case 2007 T251Post Medieval (16th - 17th Century) silver bell, probably a hawking bell based upon its size. Only the upper hemisphere survives which in itself is damaged and incomplete. The bell is misshapen, measuring 12.29mm by 7.98mm; the original diameter is unknown. The bell is thin walled, at a thickness of 0.49mm. The bell has a depth of 4.84mm. The integrally cast suspension loop at the apex of the bell is missing, with two small projections surviving. The bell is plain, except for an incised line around the circumference located just above where it would have been soldered to the lower hemisphere.
