Deutsch: 15.10.2007 08499 Mylau, Burg 1: Burg (GMP: 50.618285,12.265690). Die Burg Mylau ist die größte Burg des Vogtlandes. Der in Mylau beschworene Kaisermythos gründet sich auf Kaiser Karl IV. (1316-1378), der die Burg 1367 erwarb und im gleichen Jahr besuchte. Die Burg indes ist älter und entstand schon um 1180. Nach wechselvoller Geschichte viefiel sie. Der alte Glanz lebte auf, als die Stadt Mylau 1892 die Burg kaufte. Die Instandsetzung der "Kaiserburg", die bis 1909 andauerte, war mit einem historisierenden Um- und Neubau der Burggebäude verbunden. Heute wird die Burg als Museum genutzt.
