Deutsch: 08.05.2007 01558 Großenhain, Zum Fliegerhorst 25: MiG-17 Denkmal (GMP: 51.304784,13.537385). In den Jahren 1945 bis 1993 waren auf dem Flugplatz in Großenhain Luftstreitkräfte der Sowjetunion stationiert. Das Denkmal der einzigen noch erhaltenen MIG-17 der sowjetischen Luftstreitkräfte wurde am 18.08.1974 eingeweiht und im Jahre 2002 restauriert.Die MIG (Mikojan Gurewitsch) 17 ist ein Jagdflugzeug, das am 20.06.1951 seinen Erstflug hatte. Zwischen 1952 und 1964 wurden etwa 9000 Stück produziert. Seit 1954 setzten die sowjetischen Luftstreitkräfte die MIG 17 als Jagdflugzeug in Ostdeutschland ein.
