Title
2006 T398, late-medieval silver rumbler bell from Harston, Cambs
Description
English: Crushed silver bell, made from silver sheet hammered into two hemispherical forms, soldered together, crushed at the point at which the loop for suspension would have been inserted. Compare examples in base metal found in dated London contexts, eg: G.Egan and F.Pritchard, Dress Accessories, London 1991, no. 1666, dated c1400-50.

Similar bells were fashionable dress accessories in the 14th and 15th Centuries. This example can probably be dated to the 15th Century.
