Deutsch: 26.11.2006 01067 Dresden: Augustusbrücke (GMP: 51.055167,13.739518) mit Durchblick zu den Marienbrücken. Die ursprüngliche König-Friedrich-August-Brücke wurde 1727-1731 nach Plänen von Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann erbaut. Zwischen 1907 und 1910 von Wilhelm Kreis und Hermann Klette umgebaut. Die Elbquerung wurde beim Bombenangriff am 13. Februar 1945 getroffen, blieb aber stehen. Am 7. Mai, wenige Stunden vor Kriegsende, wurde das Bauwerk von einem SS-Kommando in die Luft gesprengt. Am 28. Juli 1949 wird die wiederaufgebaute Augustusbrücke vorfristig dem Straßenbahnverkehr übergeben. Gleichzeitig erhält sie den Namen des bulgarischen Kommunisten Georgi Dimitroff (Rückbenennung im Oktober 1990). Am 8. Oktober 1949 erfolgt die komplette Übergabe der Brücke. Später mehrfach saniert.
