Description
Deutsch: 08.11.2006 01326 Dresden-Hosterwitz: Katholische Kapelle "Maria Himmelfahrt", auch "Maria am Wege" genannt (GMP: 51.015049,13.868528). Erbaut (1877-1878). 1877 ließ sich Prinz Georg von Sachsen (1902 bis 1904 König von Sachsen) neben seiner -> Königlichen Villa Hosterwitz eine Kapelle bauen. Nach einjähriger Bauzeit wird am 15.08.1878 die katholische Kapelle "Maria Himmelfahrt" geweiht. Der Entwurf stammt von dem österreichischen Baurat Joseph Rokita. Die unter dem Namen "Maria am Wege" bekannte neogotische Privatkapelle des sächsischen Königshauses bietet 20 Plätze. Das Altarbild "Maria mit dem Jesuskind" stammt von Anna Maria Freiin von Oer. Der Ort Hosterwitz wurde 1406 erstmals erwähnt. 1618 an der Dresdner Straße erweitert. 1622 wurde Hosterwitz der Herrschaft Pillnitz zugeordnet.
