2005 T69, gold posy ring with exterior engraving and an inscription on the inside
Description
English: Gold posy ring with narrow hoop, the hoop broken and repaired, engraved on the exterior with flower and leaves, and inside with the inscription 'Let Vertue be a guide to …..ee [thee]. There is also a stamped maker's mark which is only partly legible, but may read S (?) above GW. This square form of mark with two rows of maker's initials is normally found from the mid-18th century onwards. There is no evidence to date this ring pre-1705.
