Description
English: This is my first shot of the Hollywood Park Racetrack on approach to LAX in 2005. At this time the racetrack was still functioning but troubled. It was also in this year that Churchill Downs Incorporated sold the track to the Bay Meadows Land Company, owned by Stockbridge Capital Group for $260 million in cash. This was good for the private capital business, but doom for the track. Bay Meadows, another racetrack located just south of San Francisco, was also doomed. Note that this was in January of 2005. The next shot is seven months later.
