Deutsch: 21.05.2005 02953 Kromlau (Gablenz-Kromlau): Die Rakotzbrücke von 1850 (GMP: 51.536302,14.640475) im Kromlauer Rhododendronpark (Landschaftspark). Der Herr über Schloß und Park war bürgerlicher Herkunft. Friedrich Hermann Rötschke, Großgrundbesitzer in der Oberlausitz, besaß bereits die Rittergüter Wohla bei Löbau und Sänitz bei Rothenburg, als er 1842 Kromlau erwarb. Hier begann der "kleine Pückler", auf einem 200 Hektar großen Grundstück seine eigene Gartenwelt zu erschaffen. Er ließ Teiche anlegen und Hügel aufschütten, pflanzte mächtige Eichen und dekorierte seinen Park mit anmutigen Sandsteinfiguren. Bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt vor allem die Bogenbrücke über den Rakotzsee. Mit Feldsteinen und imposanten Basaltsäulen inszenierte Rötschke hier eine bizarre Naturumgebung.
