English: Doomed experiment. This bike was suicidally fast and powerful. Danger made worse by sacrificing the front brakes to fit the small wheel. The 60kg truck battery made it un-manoeuvrable and unsteady. Notice how level the frame looks with large forks and the tiny wheel, leaving the pedals at the correct clearance. The drive sprocket was attached to the spokes of the front wheel and eventually tugged them out. The battery was smashed in the resulting crash.
The wheelchair motor was really solid, unlike many commercially produced electric bikes, which are barely worth the soft alloy from which they are made. Just pedal. |
