Description
Deutsch: 01.10.2004 36448 Schweina (Bad Liebenstein), Altensteiner Straße: Marienthaler Schlösschen (GMP: 50.813800,10.331550). Ein nach 1558 errichteter Vorgängerbau wurde zwischen 1808 und 1812 abgebrochen und durch einen Neubau ersetzt. Die Herzoglich Meiningische Finanzkammer übernahm 1833 das Gut und nahm eine Umbenennung vor, auf Wunsch des nun regierenden Herzogs Bernhard Erich Freund wurde es mit der zugehörigen Flur nach dessen Gattin Marie (von Hessen-Kassel) in Marienthal umbenannt. Ab 1851 beherbergte das kleine Schloß, zu dem auch ein im Wiesengrund gelegenes Parkgelände gehörte, den Pädagogen Friedrich Fröbel und eine von ihm gegründete Ausbildungsstätte für "Kinderpflegerinnen" im Obergeschoß des Hauptgebäudes. Unter seinem Nachfolger bestand die Bildungseinrichtung noch bis 1890. Der gegenwärtige (2004) Besitzer, ein Handwerker, ist derzeit beim robusten inneren Umbau.
