Description

Deutsch: 29.06.2004 17438 Wolgast, Am Kirchplatzt: Evangelische Petrikirche (GMP: 54.053446,13.776750), spätgotischer Backsteinbau, bis 1350 als Hallenkirche errichtet und infolge von Kriegs- und Unwetterfolgen mehrfach zerstört und wiederaufgebaut. Die weiteren Bauarbeiten begannen in der zweiten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts und wurden vermutlich um 1415 mit der Beisetzung Wartislaw VIII. beendet. Im 15. Jahrhundert erweiterten die Herzöge das Bauwerk um mehrere Kapellen zu einer dreischiffigen Basilika. In den Jahren 1512 und 1628 durch Brände weitgehend zerstört und wieder aufgebaut. Im Zentrum des Heiligtums steht ein gemauerter Altar, darüber ein Kruzifix wohl aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, das die Kirchengemeinde im Jahr 1959 als Geschenk von der Kirchengemeinde St. Marien aus Stralsund erhielt. Dahinter gibt es ein Altarfenster mit dem Titel "Der sinkende Petrus" aus dem Jahr 1929. An einem Strebepfeiler befindet sich die hölzerne Kanzel von 1710. Der in dunklem Holz gehaltene Kanzelkorb ist mit Brüstungsfeldern geschmückt. Das Lesepult mit reichem Schnitzwerk wurde 1645 gefertigt. [DSCN4491.JPG]20040629040DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
