Description
English: 1 sherd of earthernware pottery . A reddish brown and dark grey coarseware with abundant, coarse, rounded sand temper (up to 1.5 mm). The fabric is largely reduced black to brown apart from the internal surface which is oxidised reddish orange. Slightly abraded. A thin walled body sherd, probably from a cooking jar. Handmade. Date: 12th to 13th century coarseware from the East Dorset/South Wiltshire industries. Weight: 3 g
