Description |
English: Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 30mm in diameter and 13mm thick. The object is in good condition with a grey patina and weighs 45.35 grams. The whorl has a central hole 10mm in diameter and is biconvex (triangular in section). It is decorated on both sides, one side has raised lines which cross over each other randomly with the spaces in between filled with raised dots. The other side has a pattern of curved raised lines joined to short, straight ones which gives the impression of shark fins, these are interspersed with raised dots. |
