| Description |
Mercedes-Benz eventually became a very desirable luxury brand sought out by status-conscious motorists worldwide. The museum's exhibit captions make sure to explain the various economic developments and regulatory challenges that have taken place not only within Germany, but in key export markets like the USA as well. This is a US-market 1995 S600 (W140) that was sold new to actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He drove it until becoming California's governor in 2003, and now the car has returned home to Stuttgart to be a museum exhibit. This car is the only one I remember in this museum with US license plates. However, the California plate (5CVT609) dates from when Schwarzenegger sold the car, rather than when he owned it. Hasta la vista, baby! |
