Summary

[edit]
Description

Cardinal Red. The EB Falcon was nearly identical to the EA, to identify the Ford badge moved from the bonnet into the grille and it got reverse lights either side of the numberplate. The great news was, the V8 was back with a fuel injected 5.0 litre Windsor. From 1992- 2002 Tickford Vehicle Engineering (TVE) built the performance versions of the Falcon for Ford Australia. The XR6 and XR8 were built there during this period. It was also TVE that brought back the legendary Falcon GT. Firstly with the EB GT, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the GT Falcon and then with the EL GT, celebrating the 30th anniversary. Although the 1992 EB GT lacked the raw power of the earlier GTs, it certainly looked the part, styling similar to the RS Cosworth Escort, with full body kit, oval bonnet scoop, 17in alloys, sports suspension, ABS, LSD and fully loaded Fairmont Ghia based interior. Engine; Tickford engineered 200kw 5.0 litre V8, based on the Mustang Cobra engine 265 EB GTs were made, 68 in Cobalt Blue, 68 in Cardinal Red and 109 in Black Pearl

Photographed at Blue Sunday, the last week of the Australian Falcon production.
