Summary

[edit]
Description

The museum also has a full-fledged new Mercedes-Benz showroom as well as a Young Classics showroom.

This particular example is priced at €10,950. This is a 190E 1.8 that was built in October 1991 and has 40,600 kilometers on the odometer.

This car lacks model number and trim markings on the trunk lid. In Europe, I found many Mercedes-Benz vehicles like that - even ones fresh out of the factory; the de-badging appears to be one of the options the owner can specify when ordering. De-badged Mercedes-Benz automobiles are common in North America as well, though it is usually the owners themselves who do the de-badging.

The E550 that I picked up this day won't be de-badged anytime soon, if ever. My folks ordered it as their retirement vehicle, and my mother is on this trip with me as legal owner (I'm basically her driver and guide, plus providing some of the funding). The only reason for ordering the overpowered E550 rather than the more sensible/efficient E350 is the larger number on the trunk lid. Old-fashioned motorists who need their bragging rights.
