Very nice to see two old classics like this, recreating a scene from the late 80s. This is a very late Vauxhall Cavalier, but DVLA assumes It to be scrapped, as it doesn't appear on the database. The VW Golf is a nice very original looking example, which are harder to see now as most have been modified. These were parked outside a scrapyard, so I expect if they don't sell, they'll end up in it. Getting very hard to spot Mark II Cavaliers these days. They've all but died out in some areas, although it wasn't all that long ago when it was the third most common car on Britain's roads. In 2006, Auto Express named the MK II Cavalier as Britain's sixth most scrapped car. The Cavalier was almost certainly OAP owned- the old AA badge and the disabled sticker on the back was a bit of a giveaway. Might be the last time I see these too, as they're very likely to end up in the scrapyard just 20 yards away. Lovely seeing two together like this though... |
